Maida Media was born out of necessity and an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2020, founder Josie Maida lost her public relations, communications, and social media job at the Walt Disney Company.
After many months on the job hunt and countless hours spent in the house during quarantine, Maida received a LinkedIn message that would change her career forever.
The message was simple – a friend of a friend had told a contact that Maida might be the right fit for help in social media management. After a few conversations and interviews, she began to work with the brand, creating content for their social platforms, finding creators to build important relationships on behalf of the brand, hosting brand giveaways, creating content, and more. It wasn’t long until a lightbulb went off, and Maida realized – I could do this for other brands too!
Launching a new business and opening an agency during a global pandemic was not easy, but Maida kept at it. In 2023, as the business continued to grow, she brought in her long-time business partner, Kait Killebrew, to help with this latest business venture. Killebrew has an abundance of talent and skill in the marketing field. After years in agencies and as a freelance writer, creator, and strategist, it only made sense for the two to join forces.
Today, the two have worked on hundreds of projects together and have a team of trusted creators and experts who work with Maida Media to ensure that each client has access to the tools they need.
Maida Media is unlike the thousands of other agencies that have popped up since the pandemic. Our agency is built on university education and decades of experience in-house at large organizations and public relations and marketing firms.
